Claire de LuneAn oval moonstone set in piercing steel
Its opal fire brightly blazing.
Two light green eyes attracted by his will
His hand is beckoning, his visor he's a-raisingAs night is falling, birds prepare to sleep
The sun into the night gondola's sinking
The moon comes out - company to keep
Two strangers in the night whose fates are linkingThe battle-weary eyes drink hooded figure's grace
He winks, her cheeks warm up demurely blushing
She wants to flee, she's nude under his gaze
And tugs her hood down as her face is flushingIn silver moon light shadows grow deep
And stars light up the child of His creation
A stallion and a mare nuzzle in their sleep
All nature sighs in silver celebration
ZionYou stand before me like a knight
Thy majesty in colors bright
Spectacular, breathtaking sight
A battle ready, mounted knightA helmet tops unbowing head
Tis Angel's Nest, which mortals dread
Thy glistening lance - your waterfalls
Swift waters gush through rock and allOh song of desert, mind's flight...
Of jagged rock unknown might
An ancient tribesman's holy place
Oh Zion! Peace, austere grace
Blind InjusticeA bird sings in a golden cage
The evening light rays slowly creeping.
As evening falls, they form a stage
On which a cat's demurely sleeping. The cat's thin, an abyssinian grey
he's seen all tricks
and's tired of the play
It's lovely songs, the clicks of beaks
He's heard it all, and's tired of the play... .With half shut lids, remembers he past days
How he chased birds, on their bodies lay
And tickled their necks with outstretched paws
Then mercilessly grinned and clasped his claws...Then trembles he, slim body taught with fear
As if some ghost will suddenly appear.
The bird is singing and the song is dear
The cat awakes, the bird stares numb from fearThe bird's white, in evening light so pure
One wing's gone, her eyes are so demure
The cat just stares, all empty, unaware
It has no eyes, just quietly lays there. And so they are, united by the night
The wingless bird….. The cat with no sight
sits on his paws, its feet with no claws
He murmurs to the bird, "we've both lost"...
The Love LetterA youth came to a sage one day
And asked the learned seer
How do I tell my fair love,
"I hold you most dear" ?From castle wall I want to shout
"You're a beauty rare, -- come dear
To live and die with you, speak out ...".
but I'm numb from fearThe sage replied to the young lad,
"Look at the fort down younder,
Suppose you storm the castle walls
And tear the folks asunder? ""Will those who are left to live
And witness the destruction
Will they adore you as their Lord
Or harbor malefaction? "The sage went on to tell the youth
of flowers, gifts, and wine,
of turtle doves, and liqueurs smooth
and music gentle, quietThe youth went to his horse and wept, "Nay,
I have none of those!...."
The horse continued eating hay
and listened to his woesA simple bow of straw he made
And graced it with some lace.
On parchment smooth, sweet verse he laid
Of her beguiling graceAnd in Lord's chapel, her veiled face...
His gaze afire with love
Into her prayer book he placed
A letter to his doveAnd as she sang, with naive grace
The verses high and true,
The light of love shone on her face
And in his heart, he knew......
Waves upon the sandAn ocean wave descends upon the sand
One minute it is here frothing, whirling
"Where did you come from?", - "Foreign, distant land"...
It leaves an imprint, steals away returningDesign and imprint - different each time
its little teeth, like tiny paws of dew
The swooshing wave, and ancient mariner's rhyme
Is it our vows, together we renew? The tiny waves have grown ever stronger
Your kind words and tireless debates
And partings... - I have grown fonder
I hush and whisper, "Come to me, my mate"You make me laugh, I see a great big child
Sometimes, a warrior ready for the kill
You are so free - that freedom I desire
I marvel at your energy and willAnd we will shake the stodgy foundation
And scream into the face of moral "right"
Just you and I - 'tis all - in this creation
The ecstasy of wave and sand unite.
"Only two things in the world I love
That's rock and roll and my turtle dove"For a man that I adore
What would I give?
All the essence of my soul
But how to live?In a harsh and bitter struggle
I've lost all
To his presence on the double...
Jealous waves - a heavy tollEvery self made vow I've broken
Woe on me! And my soul
is stuck on "open"
Misery...I want spring
Demand it, want to feel
Like a bud about to open
Hold me stillAnd for once,
please whisper in my ear
"Darling, it is gone
Please hold your tears"On that mound yonder
in the snow
I have buried - love
and You, are free to go...
I'll Say a Thousand Goodbyes
I'll Say a Thousand Goodbyes
I'll say a thousand goodbyes
But do I really mean "hello"?
I make men jealous, sparks fly
My own mind, I do not know.I pout, I dream, I toy with life
Is this tristesse or happiness to be?
I don't want to bend and break
Oh, how I love my liberty!I want an equal, not a rope
Around my neck, to drag me down
Against some arrows, I'll defend
Or should I always stand my ground?Sweet fruit of life, let go of strife,
Your muse and soul, let me be!
Forget tristesse and wink at me,
Your Lady and your mystery
SilenceOh Silence, you are my escape and pleasure
When lying on the carpet with a pen in hand,
I read, I write, I chuckle, and I pen
Some poetry and prose, a friend might truly treasureAnd in those moments of abandonment and leisure
When I transport myself to ages past and gone
I ride a horse, or draw a bow, shoot a gun
Or dance a waltz measure by measureMy baby runs and jumps upon my back
He laughs and then undoes my orderly braid
He grabs the pen, and really needs a whackBut sweetly smiles and giggles unafraid
He wants to dance to disco and to rock
Oh Silence - rest in peace, my plans are made!
To my sisterTo love and spring an ode I sing
To youth, and youth at heart, and smiles
To joy! I lift my goblet, let us drink!
To you -- and all your charming wiles. My sister, you and I, as different as the world
me: spring - with thunder, lightning, and snow
You, dear "All", will never grow old
A brook of laughter, where I weep in sorrowI spur my soul on to greater depths
To find meaning in this world of ours
I look at you, and see your joys.Regrets--
they fall from you, like petals fall from flowersLet's drink to spring, to life, to poesy!
A song of loving hearts, a bottle of red wine
Communion of souls in loving harmony
A melody of spring, bright, verdant, and divine.
HushThe rain raged in battle with my window
I heard its music - like the snare drums
My inner self in search, my soul in shadow
I'd like some quiet slumber, not this humSat up, my eyes searched wildly for something
My hand reached for a light switch, "click" - it's on
Oh nasty weather, listen, stop this nonsense!
The ping-pong game on my roof tiles - be gone...To rest my head upon a fluffy pillow
To snuggle underneath the linens - white
To curl up, snooze, and vanquish all my sorrow
To smile a Cheshire smile with delight
To thee I will extend my handTo thee I will extend my hand
To thee alone I will give all
My grace, my charm, my soul's lament
And from your arms I won't recoilNo one else knows me as well
Within my soul a void has filled
And though so many want my hand
For you alone, my heart does thrillI thought me lost, my soul adrift,
the light within, had lost its spark
My mind could not comprehend
What happened?, and why it was dark? And now I find myself content
In joyous wonder lost as well
I sing of love, gone are laments,
My soul sings and casts its spells.
True LoveA minstrel sings a song for you
Perhaps one last caress…
What do you feel? I have no clue
With my true love, I'm blessed! We journeyed through the looking glass
You led me by the hand
A love that wasn't meant to last
Across a chasm we stand. To pale silence you escaped
I thought you tooth and nail
It was all over, yet I sent
Some letters in the mailThe one, for whom my eyes light up
To him, I gave my hand
He did not have to lift his hat,
Perhaps it was -- just meant! On waves of blue, sailed your fast ship
You found another port,
My soul in silence prays for you
And hopes she's more than sportMy lover's touch, his soothing hands
Sweet romance fills my heart.
I burn and yearn for his embrace
And hope we'll never part.
Meditation on the Tao81:"True words aren't eloquent
eloquent words aren't true
Wise men don't need to prove their point
Men who need to prove their point aren't wise."To eloquence and grace I dedicate my life!
My words might not ring true to you
But master's spirit nourishes through strife
A ministrel's song, an ancient prophet's truthA worthy pupil I?
Perhaps a learned fool!
My mind wonders drunkenly from verse to verse
In life I'm as stubborn as a mule
And always want to prove my point firstSo what? Did Master Lao-tzu write for me?
Perhaps to teach this goat how to think.....
To love and laugh, to reach tranquility
Into the soft and yielding waters sink !
